"What have you done for me lately?"

Here's a few things we've been up to:

  1. Fremont teachers recently received i-Pads that were purchased by your Fremont PTA with funds raised by our Save Our STEAM (SOS) supporters. As teachers learned in their training last week, the i-Pad can be utilized to perform a variety of instructional strategies both on-line and in-person. We are proud to be able to support technology integration, both in the classroom and during distance learning. The purchase of these devices will be a critical link to successful instructional practice for student and teacher alike.

  2. Fremont PTA is proud to sponsor our Classroom and Technology Aides, even during this time of distance learning. They are an important support system for our students, teachers, and staff.

  3. Fremont PTA gifted nature activity books to every Fremont student in an effort to get our scholars outside and off their screens for a bit. Thank you for all of the positive feedback!

  4. Fremont PTA President, Andrea Wader, and President nominee, Kelsey Stewart, attended the 2021 CA State PTA Virtual Legislative Conference: A Path To Equity over the past few days. While they didn't get to head to Sacramento this year because of COVID, the virtual option allowed them to cover twice as much ground as they would have been able to do in-person. Day 1 kicked off with California State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurmond, sharing his ideas on how to create equity, opportunity and access to quality education for all of California’s children. They also had the opportunity to meet with state senators, assemblywomen, and assemblymen to continue important advocacy efforts to reopen schools safely and focus in on the important work of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  5. Fremont PTA is proud to sponsor our Art Explorers art integration program, doubling the number of art assemblies and lessons per school year!

  6. Fremont PTA is proud to sponsor the California Science Center's Elementary Science Partnership Program, offering an intensive, interactive partnership program that supports the implementation of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for elementary schools. The program will help Fremont increase familiarity with the NGSS and provide a basis for planning instruction around the new standards.

Highlights include:

  • Sample Lessons

  • Science Notebooking

  • Engineering Design Process

  • Assessment Tools

  • Planning Time with California Science Center

Even though you can't see us buzzing around campus, we're still hard at work advocating for our students and supporting our Fremont community. There is always work to be done.
