Read Across America 2021

March 2nd is a day for celebrating the NEA's "Read Across America" initiative, to bolster our children's love of reading and to expand our libraries to include more inclusive and diverse narratives. Storytelling is one of the best ways to cultivate empathy and foster a lifelong love of learning. From the NEA's Read Across America site: "Cultivate Compassion:Books and stories provide points of access for understanding other people's lives. Reading diverse books helps students walk in someone else’s shoes—or try on a different hat! Talk about what they read and how to put their compassion into action."
