Volunteer

The dynamic, active, and devoted families, teachers, and staff who make up our PTA work together to enrich the school experience for our school community. That requires a great deal of teamwork and volunteer effort!

 

Here are open volunteer opportunities for the 2023-24 School Year. Please contact president@fremont-pta.org or programs@fremont-pta.org for more information. 

 

  • Book Fair (Fall & Spring): Volunteers needed to organize and work shifts at 2 Scholastic book fairs.

  • Carnival (early June): A day of game booths, inflatables, music & food. Organizing committee members are needed beginning in March.

  • Fall/Spring Socials (Sept & June): Potluck dinners at Fremont. Volunteers are needed to help plan, promote, set up, and clean up. Organized by Fremont’s IDEA Committee. 

  • Graphic Design (as needed): Pitch in on the website, newsletter, spirit wear and event graphics. Knowledge of Canva is a plus!

  • Ground Education (monthly): Assist in coordinating our new student gardening program benefitting all students!

  • Health & Safety (quarterly): Maintain emergency supplies in compliance with the LBUSD recommendations. Helps coordinate quarterly emergency drills with the Principal.

  • Home Reading Club (monthly): Volunteer throughout the year to deliver books to classrooms for students who complete the Home Reading Club log. A beloved part of the annual Fremont activities!

  • Holiday Food Drive (November): Organize, collect & deliver donated items during the winter holidays.

  • Hospitality (three times per year): Help organize special lunches for Fremont faculty at the beginning of the year, holidays and end of year. 

  • Jog-a-thon (October): Our biggest PTA fundraiser! A fun community event every year. Committee members needed to help plan and organize the event. Perfect for a group of friends - We’re looking to get started ASAP!

  • Picture Day (two days in Spring and Fall): On-site assistance during spring and fall school picture days.

  • Reflections (Oct-Nov): Students interpret the annual theme through various artistic expressions. Help publicize and process art, and plan reception. This program needs to get kicked off soon! 

  • STEAM Fair (May): Annual event open to all students. Volunteers are needed to coordinate events and assess projects. 

  • Social Media (ongoing): Savvy volunteers are needed to help share school and community info on Fremont’s social channels.

  • Staff Appreciation Week (May): Help show our dedicated teachers and staff how much we appreciate the work they do. Organize a lunch and communicate with Room Parent Coordinator about specifics. 

  • Teacher of the Year Program (April and May): Coordinate an essay contest and communicate with key stakeholders. Minimal time and high reward!
